LIFE AT YOUR SCHOOL AT A GLANCE

Life at Your School is a six-week summer film and storytelling camp taking place at Elsie Allen High School from July 6 through August 15, 2026.

For six weeks, students participate Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., working alongside professional filmmakers, mentors, and community leaders to create an original film from concept to premiere.

Throughout the program, students develop skills in storytelling, filmmaking, leadership, communication, teamwork, and mental wellness while exploring topics that matter to them and their community.

What Your Sponsorship Supports

Your partnership helps provide:

• Breakfast and lunch for participating students

• Film equipment, technology, and production supplies

• Student workbooks and creative materials

• Professional filmmaker and mentor support

• Leadership and mental wellness programming

• The community red-carpet premiere showcasing student work

Every dollar helps ensure students can participate at no cost while gaining valuable creative, leadership, and career-building experiences that extend far beyond the summer.

Why This Student Film Project Matters

Life at Your School is a student-led educational film about mental health, identity, and grief. Created by students, for students, the project empowers high schoolers to cast, crew, and tell their own stories while working alongside professional filmmakers who mentor them throughout the production process. Through filmmaking and storytelling, students explore challenges such as anxiety, identity, grief, and belonging while discovering they are not alone in their experiences.

This initiative responds to a growing youth mental health crisis. According to the CDC, 40% of U.S. high school students report persistent feelings of sadness or hopelessness, and nearly 1 in 5 have seriously considered suicide. Research shows that students who feel a strong sense of belonging at school experience greater wellbeing, stronger engagement, and improved academic outcomes. By combining storytelling, collaboration, and creative expression, Life at Your School helps students build empathy, confidence, and meaningful connections with their peers.
